All epidemiological surveillance indicators show a decline in dengue activity over the past four weeks. Indeed, the number of clinically suggestive cases, the number of confirmed and probable cases, and the number of hospitalizations for dengue are decreasing simultaneously. Despite this decline, the epidemic remains widespread throughout mainland Guadeloupe and the nearby islands. The situation still corresponds to Phase 4, Level 1 of the Psage Dengue* (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation involving the co-circulation of the dengue and chikungunya viruses, it is important to remind the public of the importance of eliminating larval breeding sites and taking personal precautions against mosquitoes.
