Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in Guadeloupe. Update as of March 14, 2014.
Situation Analysis
All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to a decline in dengue activity over the past five weeks and a gradual return to normal: the number of clinically suggestive cases, the number of confirmed and probable cases, the positivity rate of tested samples, the number of emergency room visits, and the number of hospitalizations for dengue. The circulation of the dengue virus in Guadeloupe has returned to a pattern close to sporadic transmission. In light of all this data, the Expert Committee on Infectious and Emerging Diseases, meeting on March 13, 2014, concluded that the dengue epidemic had ended and that the situation corresponded to the “return to normal” phase of the Psage*.
