Epidemiological Situation

The epidemiological situation regarding dengue fever in Martinique continues to deteriorate. All epidemiological surveillance indicators have been on the rise for the past 3 to 4 weeks. With nearly 2,000 clinically suggestive cases recorded in recent weeks, this 2019–2020 outbreak is the largest in the past 15 years, following the major 2010 outbreak, during which up to 4,000 cases per week were recorded at the peak of the outbreak. It is therefore essential that everyone work together to combat the resurgence of Aedes
aegypti mosquitoes: destroying larval breeding sites, using personal protection such as repellents, and utilizing mosquito nets and electric swatters…
