Dengue Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of December 19, 2019.

Epidemiological Situation

In Guadeloupe, the dengue management committee met on Friday, December 13, 2019; it declared the transition to Phase 4 of the PSAGE dengue plan: confirmed epidemic, and decided to strengthen communication and public information efforts, as well as measures to combat mosquitoes, the disease’s vectors. The maximum expected number of clinically suggestive cases for this period has been exceeded for 11 weeks. Since July 2019, nearly 3,230 clinically suggestive cases of dengue have been recorded.

In Saint Martin, the number of clinically suggestive cases has been rising for the past three weeks. It remains high, with nearly 70 cases estimated last week.

In Saint Barthélemy, the first clinically suggestive and biologically confirmed cases of dengue have been identified.
