Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy

Dengue surveillance indicators in both urban areas and hospitals are at low or even zero levels in the French West Indies (Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy).

According to the PSAGE**, Martinique and Guadeloupe are currently in Phase 1—sporadic transmission. As a reminder, the end of the dengue epidemics in Martinique and Guadeloupe was declared on April 29 and May 20, 2021, respectively.

During the inter-epidemic phase, as is currently the case in the French West Indies, a few cases of dengue may be reported, as dengue is endemic-epidemic. It is therefore advisable to continue taking preventive measures (destruction of larval breeding sites, personal protection with repellents, use of mosquito nets and electric fly swatters).
