COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of January 22, 2021
Key Points
Epidemiological surveillance indicators for COVID-19 showed that SARS-CoV-2 transmission had stabilized in Guadeloupe and Saint Barthélemy, while it was on the rise in Saint Martin. The virus is actively circulating in all three territories. Vigilance must remain high in the coming weeks given the risk of new variants entering our territories.
Guadeloupe
Virological surveillance indicators show a trend toward stabilization in week 2021-02. A trend toward stabilization in emergency room visits as well as hospitalized cases (across all departments and in intensive care) is also observed. In primary care, COVID-19 activity remained low with a decrease in patient visits.
Saint Martin
Virological surveillance indicators have been rising since the beginning of 2021. The virus is actively circulating, and this situation must be closely monitored. In hospitals, however, the number of new admissions for COVID-19 remained low. In primary care, the number of consultations was stable last week.
Saint-Barthélemy
Virological surveillance indicators stabilized last week (2021-02), reflecting active circulation of the virus on the island.
