Situation Analysis
All epidemiological surveillance indicators point to the continuation of the epidemic, characterized by a relatively slow but steady increase in viral circulation through the end of July, including in municipalities that had previously been little or not at all affected. To date, no particular severity associated with this epidemic has been observed. The predominance of DENV-4, already observed in June, was confirmed in July, as it accounted for 80% of the serotypes detected. This serotype had not circulated in Guadeloupe for several years. The situation corresponds to Phase 4, Level 1 of the Psage Dengue system (confirmed epidemic). Given the epidemiological situation, it is important to remind the public of the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites and taking individual precautions against mosquitoes. In the event of sudden onset of fever, it is recommended to consult your primary care physician.
