Situation Analysis
Since the third week of July, the epidemiological situation regarding dengue in Martinique has corresponded to Phase 2, Level 2 of the PSAGE dengue protocol: active circulation of the virus. This circulation resulted in the emergence of multiple outbreaks through the end of July. This phase change led to an intensification of surveillance, vector control, and community mobilization efforts. Over the past two weeks, the weekly numbers of clinically suggestive cases and probable or confirmed cases have exceeded the expected maximum values. The trend in other available indicators (dengue-related consultations with SOS-médecins doctors, pediatric emergency room visits for dengue) confirms the intensification of dengue circulation in Martinique. Dengue transmission is becoming widespread, as it has been observed in 21 out of 34 municipalities, located in central and southern Martinique. This situation now corresponds to Phase 3 of the PSAGE, the epidemic risk phase.
