Situation Analysis
All epidemiological surveillance indicators for dengue in Martinique point to the end of the epidemic. The number of suspected dengue cases and the number of confirmed and probable cases have been below the threshold for several weeks. Other indicators show a decrease in viral circulation (emergency room visits, SOS Médecins). Martinique’s Committee of Experts on Infectious and Emerging Diseases (CEMIE) has ruled on a change in phase, given the current epidemiological situation. This corresponds to Phase 5 of the Psage Dengue* (return to normal). Thus, this epidemic, declared in week 2013-30, lasted 39 weeks. It peaked between mid-September and early October. No unusual severity was observed. Three deaths were recorded, two of which were indirectly linked to dengue and one is currently under classification.
