Extreme Heat, Heat Wave
- Météo France issued an orange heat wave alert for the island’s two departments on July 14. This heat wave ended on Wednesday, July 22.
Dengue, Chikungunya, and Zika
- The first imported case of dengue was reported in week 29 in Corsica. No imported cases of chikungunya or Zika have been reported since the start of the season.
Drowning
- The first national report on drowning surveillance for the period from May 1 to July 15 was published by Santé publique France.
- In Corsica, the total number of drownings was up compared to 2025 (21 vs. 16), as in most regions of mainland France (with the exception of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and Occitanie regions). However, the proportion of drownings resulting in death was down (14% vs. 31% in 2025 for the same period).
