Key Points
Chikungunya
- 81 cases of chikungunya were reported in Week 16 in Mayotte, representing a 28.3% decrease compared to Week 15 (113 cases) (unconsolidated data), with the virus still circulating actively in the region
- 36 cases have required hospitalization since the beginning of the year, including 2 severe cases admitted to the ICU
- Reports of suspected chikungunya cases to the SAMU dispatch center are down in week 16 compared to week 15
Leptospirosis
- Since the beginning of 2026, 121 cases of leptospirosis have already been recorded, 21 of which required hospitalization, including 4 cases admitted to intensive care
Bronchiolitis
- Transition to the post-epidemic phase since week 15. Decline in virological indicators and stable hospitalization rates in week 16
Mpox
- A new case of Mpox (monkeypox) was reported at the end of week 16, bringing the total number of cases recorded in Mayotte since the start of the year to 16
Hepatitis A
- A total of 19 cases of hepatitis A have been recorded in Mayotte since the beginning of the year.
Typhoid fever
- Sporadic cases have been observed since the beginning of the year. A total of 6 cases have been recorded in the territory since the beginning of the year
