Extreme Heat, Heat Wave

  • The seasonal monitoring system is active from June 1 through September 15 each year. Brittany has been on a green alert since the last heatwave in August. Indicators have continued to decline since the last heatwave.

Asthma

  • Activity remains stable at a low level. Within seasonal norms.

Allergies

  • The number of emergency room visits remains stable, while the number of SOS Médecins consultations has decreased. Case numbers are in line with seasonal averages.

Gastroenteritis

  • Low activity. Decrease in emergency department visits and SOS Médecins consultations across all age groups.

ENT Conditions

  • Low activity since the summer. Activity related to ENT conditions has remained stable in S35: among children under 5, ENT conditions account for 6.2% of emergency department visits and 43.8% of SOS Médecins consultations. Low detection rates of rhinoviruses and enteroviruses by the virology laboratories at the Rennes and Brest university hospitals (positivity rates of 11.4% (4/35) and 10.5% (9/86), respectively).
