Extreme Heat, Heat Waves

  • Brittany has experienced four heatwave episodes since May 2026.
  • Brittany has been out of the heat wave alert since the weekend of August 15, following a short-lived, moderate-intensity heat wave (orange alert) that lasted 5 days in Morbihan and 4 days in the other departments and affected the entire region.

Asthma

  • Asthma-related activity has continued to decline since the start of summer, both in emergency rooms and at SOS Médecins. Case numbers are within the seasonal average.

Allergies

  • The number of emergency room visits has remained stable, while the number of SOS Médecins consultations has decreased. Case numbers are within seasonal averages.

Gastroenteritis

  • Activity is low. There has been a decline in both emergency room visits and SOS Médecins consultations across all age groups since July. Patient numbers are in line with seasonal averages.

ENT Conditions

  • Decreased activity in emergency departments and with SOS Médecins since Week 29, with 206 emergency department visits in Week 34 compared to 337 in Week 29, and 500 SOS Médecins consultations in Week 34 compared to 931 in Week 29.
