The participants and partners in the Esteban study

The Participants

As a large-scale study led by public authorities, Esteban involves numerous stakeholders: investigators, dietitians, nurses, and doctors. It is managed by a team of public health professionals (epidemiologists, statisticians, data managers, etc.).

Your contacts

The call center

Your first contact with the Esteban team will be made by phone by a researcher from the Ifop Research Institute.

They will explain the study, its objectives, and how it works, and invite you to participate.

The interviewer

The interviewer is the primary point of contact for participants.

They will visit your home twice to explain the study in detail, provide you with the necessary papers, documents, and materials (questionnaires, information sheet, and consent form, small items for the health examination, etc.), and organize and facilitate your participation in Esteban.

The dietitians

The dietitians conduct the dietary survey by phone. They assist you in completing the paper or online questionnaires.

State-certified nurses

These professionals are responsible for conducting home health examinations (for children and adult participants who wish to have one).

The doctor

A doctor is available to all participants to answer medical questions regarding the study. He or she can be reached by phone at the following toll-free number: 0 800 348 360.

He or she also assists interviewers, dietitians, and nurses in answering participants’ medical questions.

Health Examination Centers

Health Examination Centers are health centers affiliated with the Health Insurance system. They organize your health examination and play a vital role in the prevention and screening of certain chronic diseases.

Esteban coordinates 73 health centers and 42 affiliated laboratories to ensure easy and quick access for all participants.
