The promotion of physical and sports activities is increasingly seen as synonymous with health promotion. But are physical activities really that beneficial to young people’s health? And, beyond that, how do pushing oneself to the limit, taking risks, and seeking connection with others—all so central to adolescence—intersect with physical and sports activities?
