Occupational cancers. The number of cases has yet to be estimated
To determine the number of cancer cases attributable to a particular risk factor, it is necessary to know the relative risk and the prevalence of exposure in the general population; the results therefore depend entirely on the values of these parameters. The estimates provided by the IARC* are consequently subject to debate, and some critics point to the lack of confidence intervals in their presentation.
