Opening remarks at the Santé publique France Conference by Jérôme Salomon, Director General of Health, and François Bourdillon, Director General of Santé publique France

The Santé publique France Conference begins today. Jérôme Salomon, Director General of Health, and François Bourdillon, Director General of Santé publique France, opened the event this morning. Nearly 1,500 people are expected to attend over the course of these three days to participate in lectures, sessions, and workshops, and to share their experiences in health surveillance, prevention, and intervention.

3 days of discussion and learning

A must-attend event in public health, the Rencontres de santé publique France welcomes all professionals involved in the health, social services, and education sectors (public health practitioners, institutional representatives, scientists, associations, and reservists). Representatives from Santé publique France and external speakers, both French and international, will be present to address current issues and demonstrate how their expertise is applied to public policy. Highlights of the three-day program include two plenary sessions on the themes: "Advocacy for Prevention: The Role and Contribution of Economic Analysis" and "Nutri-Score®, Challenges and Role in Nutrition Policy."

A session on adolescents and their health

New this year is a session co-organized with the College of General Medicine on the theme "Talking with Adolescents About Their Health." Objective: to explore the diversity of approaches to discussing health with adolescents and to draw practical lessons from them. Following an overview of adolescent health, various stakeholders will present their "techniques" for engaging with adolescents, the available "resources/tools," as well as the need for convergence in approaches and collaboration. A distinguished speaker, Patrice Huerre, a child psychiatrist, will summarize the discussions at the end of the session.

Thursday, May 31, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
