Join us on June 7 and 8, 2016, for the first Santé publique France Conference at the Centre universitaire des Saints-Pères (Paris, 6th arrondissement)

The program for these two days is the result of a collaboration between the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (Inpes), the Institute for Public Health Surveillance (InVS), and the Agency for Preparedness and Response to Public Health Emergencies (Eprus) to form the new public health agency.Speakers from the three agencies, as well as external speakers from France and abroad, will take turns addressing a wide range of current topics.

The agenda for the various sessions includes: health promotion in schools, health indicators, public health emergencies (with a presentation by Public Health England), antibiotic resistance, social and regional health inequalities, vaccination, Zika, the role of big data in prevention and epidemiology, occupational risks, the role of general practitioners in surveillance, prevention, and public health preparedness, climate change, the method of early detection and brief intervention applied to alcohol, city policies regarding the health of their residents (environmental health), special diets (gluten-free, dairy-free, etc.) from the perspectives of medicine, socio-anthropology, and marketing, etc.

Five workshops – Web-based information monitoring, Implementation of a feedback mechanism or "retex," Presentation of the “Good Day, Good Health” program for vulnerable older adults, Psychosocial skills and “mindfulness” techniques in the health sector, Access to preventive health care for people with disabilities – will provide opportunities to share expertise in small groups.

Finally, two plenary sessions are scheduled. The session on June 7 will present the challenges, missions, and contributions of national public health institutes and highlight recent changes in this field in the United Kingdom and France. The session on June 8 will examine controversies in public health: how do their analysis and understanding influence public health actions?
