Météo-France forecasts indicate that low temperatures will persist, with a risk of snow and ice, over the weekend of January 7 and 8 across much of mainland France. Eighteen departments in northern France are under an orange alert. Santé publique France is reminding the public of the recommended precautions to take in the event of snow, ice, and extreme cold, as well as to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning.
