National Survey on the Prevalence of Healthcare-Associated Infections in France: "Clean Hospital" (October 1990)

Due to France's delay in establishing a system for monitoring nosocomial infections, the Beechasi Institute and the Maurice Rapin Foundation launched the "Clean Hospital" project in 1989 to promote efforts to combat these infections and to study the methodological aspects involved. One of their priorities was to conduct a national prevalence survey to assess the extent of the problem. This survey was conducted in October 1990, and this article presents the results.
