  • 73% of the reports received corresponded to clusters (at least 3 linked cases)

  • 77% of HC reports were confirmed or probable nosocomial cases

  • 42% of CG episodes occurred in medical wards and 36% in follow-up care and rehabilitation units, long-term care units, and nursing home sectors

  • 25% of transmission scenarios were due to the failure to identify the case upon admission, and 21% were due to lapses in the implementation of infection control measures
