How Is the Mental Health of the French Population Changing During the COVID-19 Pandemic? – Results from Wave 35 of the CoviPrev Survey

  • 78% of French people report having a positive outlook on life in general [Low level, -6.5 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, downward trend, -3 points compared to the previous wave]

  • 18% of French people show signs of depression [High level, +8 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, upward trend, +3 points compared to the previous wave]

  • 26% of French people show signs of anxiety [Very high level, +13 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 71% of French people report sleep problems over the past 8 days [Very high level, +21.5 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, rising trend, +4 points compared to the previous wave]

  • 12% of French people have had suicidal thoughts in the past year [High level, +8 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]
