How Is the Mental Health of the French Population Changing During the COVID-19 Pandemic? – Results from Wave 26 of the CoviPrev Survey

Key Findings from Wave 26 (July 15–21, 2021)

  • 80% of French people report having a positive perception of their overall quality of life [Low level, down 4 points from pre-pandemic levels, stable compared to the previous wave]

  • 13% of French people show signs of depression [High level, +3 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, downward trend compared to late April]

  • 19% of French people show signs of anxiety [High level, +6 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 59% of French people report sleep problems over the past 8 days [High level, +10 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, downward trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 9% of French people have had suicidal thoughts over the past year [High level, +4 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]
