The "Baromètre Santé" survey conducted by INPES in 2010 makes it possible, given the size of the sample of respondents, to analyze the use of addictive substances by economic sector. - Among people aged 16 to 64, tobacco and alcohol are the substances most frequently consumed by the working population. - Between 2005 and 2010, there was an increase in episodes of binge drinking and, among women, in tobacco use. Cocaine use over the course of the year is on the rise, while the use of cannabis, ecstasy, and poppers appears stable. - The use of addictive substances is linked to employment status; thus, the unemployed tend to consume these substances at higher rates. - Certain industries have a higher proportion of psychoactive substance users, but the nature of consumption differs across the occupational sectors examined.
