A program to prevent risks associated with chlordecone in Guadeloupe.

The "Community Gardens" program in Guadeloupe aims to inform and support families who maintain vegetable gardens that may be contaminated by the pesticide chlordecone, which was used until 1993 in banana cultivation. This program is currently underway; it educates the public, tests for chlordecone levels in each garden, and recommends adjustments to consumption habits on a case-by-case basis, using pilot gardens to teach new farming techniques.
