Survival of Cancer Patients in Metropolitan France, 1989–2018 – Lip, Mouth, Pharynx

In France, for the year 2018, the estimated number of new cases of lip, mouth, and pharynx (LMP) cancer was 10,055 among men and 3,637 among women. The estimated number of deaths from LMP cancer was 2,898 among men and 924 among women. Key points: 5-year age-standardized net survival of 41% among men and 56% among women for cases diagnosed in 2010–2015; 12-point improvement in 5-year age-standardized net survival between 1990 and 2015; Greater improvement in 5-year and 10-year net survival among people aged 50; Among older individuals (80 years old), improvement in 1-year net survival, but little progress at 5 years, and no gain at 10 years.
