Evidence-Based Interventions for Mental Health Prevention and Promotion Among Youth: A Synthesis of the Literature—Key Findings.

This document is a summary of the report *Validated Interventions for Mental Health Prevention and Promotion Among Youth*, produced by INPES. The purpose of this summary is to provide practitioners and professionals in the field with a wealth of knowledge about interventions in their field that have been validated through scientific protocols and published in literature reviews. In an effort to ensure comprehensiveness, effectiveness, and rigor, this review was conducted using a method developed at INPES in 2010 to select and analyze the scientific literature in order to identify and classify relevant interventions. About twenty strategies have thus been identified as having an impact on young people’s mental health. Roughly half of these are aimed at the general population, while the others target vulnerable groups. The majority of interventions are aimed at young people aged 5 and older. Half of the effective interventions are multimodal. Among the unimodal strategies, many programs focus on young people’s psychosocial skills. International knowledge of these strategies should enrich the discussion of professional practices developed in France.
