Men's Health, May/June 2008, No. 395: Sustainable Development and Health Promotion

How do the concepts of sustainable development and health promotion relate to one another? What do they have in common? Do they necessarily go hand in hand? These questions are at the heart of this issue, featuring contributions from Jacques Bury, Laurence Tubiana, Luc Ginot, and Serge Hercberg. The special section includes numerous French and international examples of initiatives that combine the two concepts. Also in this issue, several articles outline the strategies implemented by European Union member states to address social inequalities in health. And, for fans of the journal’s “cinésanté” section, a suggested activity based on Persepolis, the animated film by Marjane Satrapi.
