Men's Health, July/August 2006, No. 384: Promoting Youth Health
How can we promote youth health? This issue of *La Santé de l'homme* devotes its special feature to this topic, which was the focus of the INPES Prevention Days in 2006. A dozen specialists summarize the presentations and discussions that took place, with an introductory contribution by psychiatrist Philippe Jeammet. Seven themes are addressed: self-esteem, health promotion among young children, sexuality education, peer education, developing health education skills among professionals, promoting physical health during adolescence, and helping children live better with an illness or disability. In terms of features, this issue presents the mental health care program implemented by the municipality of Aubervilliers (Seine-Saint-Denis), a spotlight on the work of health education committees, and the results of a survey on psychoactive substance use among 15- to 25-year-olds. And finally, in Switzerland, the training of deaf health educators tasked with informing their own community.
