Men's Health, Jan/Feb 2005, No. 375: Improving Cancer Prevention

How can we improve cancer prevention and support for those affected? Produced in collaboration with the Ligue, this 40-page special report provides an overview of the initiatives implemented in the fight against cancer, now designated a "national cause." The authors—doctors, health educators, psychiatrists, and psychologists—explain how they work to prevent and screen for cancer, and to give a voice to those affected. Several innovative initiatives are highlighted: support groups, women’s support networks, and follow-up care for people in vulnerable situations. Also in this issue: a look at teenagers’ eating habits. And the alarming rise of “premixes”—alcoholic beverages mixed with soda—in Belgium.
