How can social work and health promotion be integrated to benefit communities? This is the focus of this issue’s feature article. Social workers play a major role in public health through their close contact with vulnerable individuals and their work on the social determinants of health: socialization and the fight against exclusion, strengthening social ties, housing, employment integration, combating discrimination, and so on. The feature notes that this role is highly practical but insufficiently recognized and developed.
