Surveillance of Chlamydia trachomatis infections through a laboratory network (RENACHLA 1995)
In 1995, the laboratories of RENACHLA (National Chlamydia Network) conducted 57,352 tests for Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct), an average of 667 tests per laboratory... Ct was identified in 1,698 patients by the network’s laboratories, corresponding to a 3% positive test rate and an average of 19 identifications per laboratory per year... From 1990 to 1995, there was a 45% decrease in the number of Ct identifications. This cannot be explained solely by the decline in laboratory activity, which was only 9% during the same period... The decrease in the number of detections is likely linked to the decline in the incidence of genital chlamydiosis in France. (adapted from the text)
