In hospitals, healthcare professionals may, in good faith, hold differing views on what is acceptable or appropriate in terms of secularism and religious expression. In the rush of daily practice, it is difficult to take into account patients and the meaning they attach to cultural and religious practices: this requires acquiring and assimilating knowledge that must be constantly updated. Therefore, healthcare professionals must be trained.
