The Relationship Between Health and Geography in Social Epidemiology.
The health of a population depends only in part on the characteristics of the area in which it lives. Nevertheless, the environment remains an important "determinant" of its residents' health. For example, run-down public spaces have a detrimental effect on mental health. Scientists have identified many other such correlations.
