In Quebec, since 2009, any organization that employs staff can obtain "Healthy Workplace" certification. Recognizing that businesses play a key role in prevention and that this potential is underutilized, a nonprofit organization developed this standard. Officially recognized, it establishes criteria for an effective workplace health promotion program. Five companies are certified, and the Ministry of Health and several cities are preparing to follow suit.
