Improving the emotional and sexual well-being of homeless people.

A team of researchers—sociologists and an anthropologist—spent time listening to forty homeless people to better understand their emotional and sexual lives. The results of their study challenge conventional wisdom and highlight the significant impact of low self-esteem on desire and the ability to love or be loved. Among the recommendations made are: improving self-esteem, providing support, and focusing on prevention. And raising awareness among social workers.
