How to implement health promotion initiatives in rural areas.

Rural areas are characterized by a shortage of healthcare professionals—doctors in particular—and the isolation many professionals experience in their daily practice. How can a health promotion program be developed while taking into account the unique characteristics of rural communities? This article outlines the key areas of focus, the methodology to be followed, and the challenges to be overcome.
