Guadeloupe: Population Health Status and Health Promotion Practices.

The health of Guadeloupe’s population has improved significantly over the past twenty years. One in three Guadeloupeans is under the age of 20. Indicators of social vulnerability remain alarming, with a youth unemployment rate exceeding 50%. The regional public health plan therefore prioritizes the fight against health inequalities—including the opening of walk-in clinics in two hospitals—and patient education on prevention, support, and management of hypertension and diabetes, two conditions that are overrepresented in Guadeloupe.
