At birth, a child needs the constant presence of an adult attentive to their needs in order to feel secure. In the early years, the essential role of caregivers (parents, professionals) is to support the child’s physical, cognitive, and motor development, alongside the formation of a secure attachment. Parental competence in creating conditions conducive to the child’s development is more important than the family structure. The family, childcare system, and school all play a role in early socialization and contribute to the child’s development. Socialization involves groups other than the family, which may convey different values.
