Bringing families back to downtown Besançon by improving housing quality [Interview].

The city of Besançon prioritizes the enforcement of housing safety standards. As such, it alerts the prefect through an investigative report whenever occupants (tenants or owners) are at risk. At the same time, it is carrying out a renovation program for dilapidated older housing in the city center and monitoring rentals in the downtown area to discourage landlords from renting out substandard or unsanitary housing.
