Drawing on the archives of the journal *La Santé de l'homme*, Bernadette Tillard, an anthropologist and public health physician, examines the nature of preventive health messages directed at parents of young children. While government concerns regarding children’s health have remained constant, the methods of prevention, as well as the themes and arguments used, have evolved.
