Since November 1984, the computer-based surveillance and information network for communicable diseases established by the DGS and INSERM has been monitoring measles, among other diseases, through a network of 150 sentinel physicians located throughout France. A total of 424 cases of measles were diagnosed between October 28, 1984, and October 24, 1985. The cases were broken down by region, age, and sex. The incidence rate is 479 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
