Surveillance of Chikungunya, Dengue, and Zika in Occitanie. Update as of October 27, 2023.
Key Points
In Occitanie, since May 1, 2023, 138 imported cases of dengue, 2 imported cases of chikungunya, and 22 cases of locally transmitted dengue have been identified. No cases of Zika have been identified.
To limit the risk of local transmission, 269 entomological surveys and 213 vector control treatments were carried out in the vicinity of these cases.
This season, three episodes of local dengue transmission were identified in Occitanie. Following outbreaks in Perpignan (66) and Gagnières (30), a new episode was identified in Montpellier.
