Key Points

COVID-19

  • Intense circulation of SARS-CoV-2 across all areas of the region, but a significant decline in Week 5

  • High incidence rates, but declining across all age groups (including those over 65); positivity rates rising among those over 65

  • In urban areas, during week 5, a decrease in requests for care due to suspected confirmed COVID-19 (SOS Médecins), stabilization of the incidence of acute respiratory infections (COVID-19 and other ARIs) (Sentinel Physicians)

  • In hospitals, a decrease in emergency department visits for suspected Covid-19; the number of new hospitalizations (including critical care) for Covid-19 also saw a slight decrease in week 5

Bronchiolitis

  • Non-epidemic phase; activity is increasing in primary care and decreasing in hospitals, at a moderate level

Influenza and influenza-like illnesses

  • Pre-epidemic activity

  • Use of healthcare services for flu-like symptoms is decreasing

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity levels decreasing but still high in emergency departments

All-cause mortality

  • Since S48-2021, excess mortality from all causes has been observed among those aged 65 and older
