Situation Analysis

Flu-like IllnessesThe flu epidemic continues in week S2016-04. Activity remains high. Eleven flu cases have been hospitalized in intensive care since January 11, 2016 (virus A), one of whom has died. Virus A is the predominant strain circulating in Martinique.

Gastroenteritis: Activity related to gastroenteritis is decreasing in primary care and in pediatric emergency department visits.

Bronchiolitis: Epidemiological surveillance indicators for bronchiolitis are decreasing; the epidemic is subsiding. RSV is still being isolated daily by the CHUM virology laboratory.

Chickenpox: The epidemiological situation regarding chickenpox is stable.
