Key Points

COVID-19

  • Incidence rates have been falling for the fifth consecutive week. This trend is observed across all age groups and all counties

  • Testing rates are declining across all age groups and all departments

  • Positivity rates are declining in all departments and age groups, except among 0-9-year-olds, where a stabilization was recorded

  • Stability in the proportion of screened tests with a profile consistent with the Omicron variant (99.1% in Week 8 vs. 99.2% in Week 7)

  • Decrease in emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19

  • Decrease in new hospitalizations and admissions to critical care

  • Slight increase in the number of COVID-19 cases in long-term care facilities.

Bronchiolitis

Third week outside of an epidemic. In week 08, bronchiolitis epidemic indicators are stable in hospital emergency departments but remain at low levels.

Influenza and influenza-like illness

20th week of surveillance – 11th week in the pre-epidemic phase. In week 08, activity related to influenza-like illnesses was stable in hospital emergency departments and on the rise at SOS Médecins.

Gastroenteritis and acute diarrhea

11th week in the pre-epidemic phase. In week 08, activity related to gastroenteritis was stable in hospital emergency departments.
