  • A total of 48 cases of mpox have been reported to Santé publique France since January 1, 2025.

  • All reported cases involve adult males.

  • Two cases of clade Ib have been confirmed by the National Reference Center for Orthopoxviruses since the start of the outbreak.

    • A first case of clade Ib, reported in late December 2024, was confirmed by the National Reference Center for Orthopoxviruses in early January 2025. The second case was confirmed in late February.

    • One of the cases was imported from an African country where clade I of the monkeypox virus is circulating; the other had been in contact with a person who had traveled to an African country where circulation of this same clade has been reported.
