Measles, Mumps, and Rubella Vaccination: Encouraging Results.

Initial assessment of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccination promotion campaign conducted in 1990 at the request of the Ministry of Health by the CFES and the C.N.A.M., which funded it through its national prevention fund. The goal was to increase vaccination coverage—deemed insufficient—among children under two years of age (with catch-up vaccination for those over two), by targeting both doctors involved in early childhood care and young parents, in particular to overcome the resistance of certain mothers to this vaccination. The assessment of the television campaign’s impact is supplemented by data showing its effects on vaccination coverage and vaccine sales, as well as on the incidence of measles and vaccination coverage for this disease (comparison of departmental rates from 1989 and 1990).
