Key Points

  • In Week 43 (October 21–27, 2024), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased among children under 2 years of age (+7.5%, or +458 visits), decreased among 2- to 14-year-olds (-14%, or -2,973 visits), and remained stable in other age groups.

  • Once again this week, cases related to seasonal respiratory indicators were stable or declining among children aged 2–14 and adults. In contrast, among children under 2 years of age, there has been an increase in cases of bronchiolitis (+31%, or +66 cases), though numbers remain lower than in the previous three years, as well as an increase in cases of asthma attacks (+30%, or +21 cases), acute bronchitis (+20%, or +34 cases), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+7%, or +432 cases).

  • Among other indicators, still among children under 2 years of age, there was also an increase in procedures for stomatological and ENT conditions (+15%) and dermatological problems (+14%), though the numbers remain low. The increase in procedures for infectious conjunctivitis continues among children under 2 years of age (+25%, or +62 procedures) and is also observed among adults (+23%, or +93 procedures), with sample sizes comparable to the previous three years.

  • Among adults, procedures are on the rise for urinary tract infections (+11%) among those aged 15–74 and for falls (+17%), trauma (+12%), and upper respiratory tract conditions (+9%) among those over 75.
