Trends in Overall ActivityOver the past week, overall activity at the clinics has remained stable across all age groups. Patient volume (56,546 weekly visits across all age groups) is slightly higher than in 2012 and 2013 for this time of year.
Trends in Major ConditionsFor all age groups, the most frequently seen conditions in clinics are ENT conditions, bronchitis, and gastroenteritis.
Trends in seasonal indicators Consultations for gastroenteritis declined slightly last week (-8%, or -313 visits). Nevertheless, with 3,445 consultations across all age groups, this indicator remains higher than the values observed in the two previous years during this period. The trend varies by region: an increase in consultations is still evident in the Basse-Normandie region; in the Pays de la Loire region, the trend is stabilizing; and in Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardy, visits are declining and returning to levels seen in previous years. Among children under 2 years of age, visits for bronchiolitis continue to rise (+39%, +54 visits), at levels comparable to those of previous years. This trend is particularly evident in the Nord, Ouest, and Île-de-France regions. Visits for bronchitis, asthma, and pneumonia are stable compared to the previous week. The number of cases for bronchitis and asthma remains higher than in previous years, while for pneumonia, the numbers are moderate and in line with expected levels. Despite still-low numbers, consultations for influenza/flu-like illness are on the rise across all age groups and are observed in most regions. The numbers are consistent with those observed during 2012 and 2013 at this time of year (433 weekly visits).Noteworthy this week is an increase in consultations for isolated fever (+12%, or +99 visits), particularly among those under 15 years of age (+14%, or 78 visits). However, case numbers are lower than in previous years (915 weekly visits).
